Those who know me know that I go hard on my hobbies. I actually refer to myself as a serial hobbyist And when I get interested in something, I invest deeply in it. 

I invest in tools. I invest the time. And I do all that I can to educate myself.

A lifelong learner, few things feed my soul more than acquiring new knowledge, new skills, new talents—especially those that can fuel a creative fire in me. I am eternally driven to create.

Every little girl that’s a “girly girl” probably has some sort of memory of loving flowers as a child. That was me then, and I’ve carried that love with me into adulthood.

But it wasn’t until D and I were DIYing our wedding that I really took flower arranging and bouquet making more seriously. The one thing I knew at the outset was that I wanted to make my own bouquet.

So I watched video after video after video about how to make bouquets. Every single morning while I was working out, I watched YouTube tutorials about bouquet making. Eventually, that desire extended into making our table arrangements as well, so the YouTube University education grew to include centerpieces.

While our destination wedding and the timing of our travels led me to use faux florals, I was obsessed with applying all the knowledge that I acquired to real flowers in an unstressed, unhurried pace—post-wedding, of course. 

So it came to pass that just a few months after our wedding, D and I started what has now become one of my favorite traditions: Saturday morning runs to my favorite flower-shopping spots so I could get some hands-on practice with the real thing. 

And I have continued to hone my skills, craft and knowledge over the last two+ years.

Beyond YouTube  University, I also found phenomenal floral design classes within driving distance and even earned a certificate in floral design. 

I’ve had a lot of successes and quite a few fails. But most of all, I’ve learned so much and created beautiful things that I could have only dreamed of just a couple of years ago. 

I’m at the point now where I am excited to share what I’ve learned and what I have created—and what I will continue to create—with all of you.
